Last Night
I want to start by saying that being a dad is amazing! It also takes a lot of patience and understanding. I am blessed to have a wife that has my back and is willing to talk through things even when it is 3 a.m. and we are both tired. I am glad to say that through all of this we still haven't had that "blow up" at each other moment. Yes, we did get a little edgy but the key is communication. We know how to talk to each other and that helps greatly.
Last night was brutal! It was our first night with no help and our little ladies decided to switch things up on us. They got off their feeding schedule and it turned into a little bit of a struggle. One of them would eat while the other one slept. Once the first one was satisfied then other would wake up. This continued through out the night until about 4 am. I took little cat naps while they ate. My wife would take cat naps while I changed poopy diapers and changed wet sheets. My girls....well they just slept, pooped/peed and ate. However, they did smile at us a lot last night so that helped us get through.
Morning Routine
My wife and I have this morning routine that we started right after we were married. Every morning before we leave for work we each give the other a blessing by doing The Sign of The Cross on the other. We tell each other to have a good day and we are on our way. Today was the first day that I was able to do that with my two daughters. They both were sleeping at the time but it still makes it special because I know when they get older they will be able to share this special thing with us. If you have loved ones (husbands/wife/children) that you leave every morning to go to work, do yourself a favor and give them a simple blessing. I guarantee you will feel a really good feeling when you do. I must say I feel like I can go out into the world knowing that they are being taken care of even if I am not there.
I must say it feels weird and sad leaving home for the first time going back to work. The good thing is that I get to see my girls when I go home and that is something I get to look forward to for a very long time, God willing!
This is a short post since I am on my lunch break. More soon!

Jordan totally needs to read your posts. They make me laugh and cry (and I can get away with crying whenever I want because I'm preggo!) Hahaha. We are really enjoying our visits with you. Hope to come over again soon.
